June 1-7 is CPR & AED Awareness Week. This is a great time to raise awareness and showcase the importance of both CPR and AEDs. When CPR is provided, and an AED is used quickly in a sudden cardiac arrest emergency, survival rates can be much higher. The more people that are comfortable performing CPR and using an AED, the more lives that can be saved!
Our mission at Defibtech is to increase the survival rate for sudden cardiac arrest. We partner with nonprofit organizations throughout the country that are working in their communities towards that same mission. Our nonprofit partners donate AEDs, provide CPR and AED training, host cardiac screening events, and just work to raise the general awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.
We are proud to showcase the amazing work they are doing to celebrate CPR & AED Awareness Week! Here are just a few examples of the amazing work being done!
During AED/CPR awareness week Advocates For Health will continue to install their Outdoor AED Smart Monitored Cabinets, making their total number of Outdoor AEDs placed over 200. With all of the installations, they provide CPR & AED CPR/AED training. A certified CPR instructor will train small and large groups of people in CPR and the use of an AED all throughout the week of June 1-7. They also plan to continue to post on social media (see links below) about the importance of AEDs and making them accessible 24/7.
