Defibtech Announces New Sponsorship with the Korey Stringer Institute

Defibtech announced they are now an official partner sponsor of the Korey Stringer Institute (KSI). KSI is a well-known institute with a mission dedicated to preventing unnecessary injuries and sudden death in sports and the military. This is accomplished by providing research, education, advocacy, and consultation to maximize performance, optimize safety, and prevent sudden death for the athlete, warfighter, and laborer.

Housed at the University of Connecticut (UCONN), they are renowned for their extensive preventable death research (both published and maintained in their databases), expertise, resources, assistance, and advocacy covering heat stroke and other sports-related injuries or emergency conditions including sudden cardiac arrest.

Primarily targeting athletic teams that include athletic trainers associated with educational institutions at all levels and ages, as well as professional teams, KSI creates or contributes to guidelines of Emergency Action Plans (EAP). An EAP is a written document required by particular OSHA standards whose purpose is to facilitate and organize employer and employee actions during workplace emergencies.
