A Global Pulse: Collaborating to Improve AED Access Worldwide

Sudden cardiac arrest is a global threat that strikes millions of people annually. To help combat this threat, we’ve partnered with companies in the United Kingdom to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and distribute AEDs. We’ve been partners with Martek Lifecare for 18 years and we recently partnered with two nonprofit organizations, The Red Sky Foundation and The Community Heartbeat Trust. Driven by a shared purpose, we hope to make a lasting difference in the United Kingdom.

What is Martek Lifecare?

Martek Lifecare is a United Kingdom distributor of Defibtech AEDs, and they are passionate about raising awareness for sudden cardiac arrest. Our partnership with Martek Lifecare began in 2006 and we’ve been working closely together ever since to expand the number of AEDs in the UK.

What is the Red Sky Foundation?

The Red Sky Foundation is a charity that is dedicated to supporting children and families affected by heart conditions, based in the United Kingdom. They raise funds for hospital equipment, place AEDs in communities, and provide lifelong support to those in need of cardiac care. So far, the Red Sky Foundation has placed over 500 AEDs in communities!

What is The Community Heartbeat Trust?

The Community Heartbeat Trust is a charity that is committed to helping and supporting communities with the correct provision of AEDs. They are known for creating “cPADs,” which stands for community public access defibrillator. Essentially, they are cabinets with AEDs inside, located on the outside of buildings, making them accessible 24/7.

How we are all working together.

The combined partnership between Defibtech, Martek Lifecare, and the Red Sky Foundation allows for the opportunity to create a significant impact throughout the UK. Together, we can combine our resources and expertise to increase access to AEDs and raise sudden cardiac awareness. Martek supplies The Red Sky Foundation with Defibtech AEDs for community projects, such as supplying schools and city centers. The Red Sky Foundation has impressive fundraising capabilities and a profound network, meaning that we can reach and educate new audiences. This partnership is dedicated to saving lives and making a difference.
The partnership with Community Heartbeat Trust shares a vision to making AEDs more readily available and boosting survival chances following sudden cardiac arrest. This partnership prioritizes key AED projects and integrates Defibtech AEDs across diverse communities in the UK. Martek Lifecare and Community Heartbeat Trust are not strangers, the two organizations have worked together in the past. Back in 2015, Martek Lifecare and Community Heartbeat Trust placed over 780 AEDs in cricket clubs throughout the UK. Now, Martek Lifecare and Community Heartbeat Trust have renewed their partnership and commitment to making AEDs accessible for all. By working together, we aim to make communities in the United Kingdom safer by equipping them with AEDs.

Collaborating with Martek Lifecare, The Red Sky Foundation, and Community Heartbeat Trust can create a positive change in the United Kingdom by educating individuals about sudden cardiac arrest and increasing the number of available AEDs to the public.
